Sorry for the delay!

How lame that my last post was in December! The reason I stopped posting was becuase I got scolded by Nick and Drew for being "too personal" in my blogs. So...I will stick to the "meat" of my life.

For those of you who don't know about me: Currently, I am working a few days at The B.O.B. still doing Event Coordinating. I love the people that I work with--they are a blast, but in May I am starting a summer Internship with Rotary Club of Grand Rapids. I am going to be coordinating the annual Golf Outing they have which raises money for some 30 inner city students. Each student gets a $1500 scholarship if they meet certain requirements as well. Mr. DeVries is the President of G.R. Rotary, so it's nice to have him there for support!

Right now, as well, I am remodeling Kevin's old room for my mom (painting etc.). It looks pretty cool so far! My dad said that when he walks in the room he gets thirsty for OJ because it's bright orange!

Drew, my boyfriend, received a new job with Sawyer Products and he is currently traveling through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Oregon for 3 weeks teaching clinics at REI. He is teaching the employees about the products so that they can "informatively" sell to the customers. We talked on the phone last night for 1 hr. and 15 min.(I think that's a record for us because phone conversing isn't our thing)!! Good thing I get free incoming calls and free nights! phew.

That's enough for now.

long night but exciting day!

Well, I finally got home this morning at 3 am. I don't know how people do it-stay up until the wee hours of the morning-I definately won't make a habit out of that one. I got with a long night of work at 1 am and thought it would be fun to go have a drink with some people that I work with-we had some good conversation. I decided it is good to see the people you work with in a different environment than work- you realize they do, in fact, have lives outside work.

Well, today is Sunday and I finally get to hang out with my best friend, Drew! yay for me!

Simplicity

I think that the best way to enjoy a Saturday morning is a good breakfast and a little stroll through a quaint little town (ie-East Grand Rapids). Well, at least that's what I did this morning with my pops. We went to kabookie's in EGR, walked Miles (my brother and sis-in-law's puppy) around town, went to Beaner's to get another cup of coffee, and headed to opa & oma's house for some more gezeligheid (dutch for "coziness"-ish). What a morning!

My thought for the day: Simplicity is 1 key to hapiness. When you start to complicate life, you end up dissatisfied and often times hurt. I am trying more and more each day to be content-in my relationships, with my "things", in what I am invloved with etc. As I learn more and more about life, I learn to really appreciate and value what I do have. Life starts now! How exciting!

yesterday, today, & tomorrow

I just want to start by saying that I am so excited about having my own blog...thanks julie-you inspired me! As a new blogger, I am not sure about all the quirks, so my blog will be under construction for a bit (sorry for that). Well, on to my life...

This week has been absoutley CRAZY! I had 4 exams and worked a total of 30 hours (and it's only Friday morning). I have to go into work for a double in about an hour and a half...good times :) I haven't got to see Drew, my boyfriend, since last Sunday!! (what!!) He is almost done with his exams-2 more today, then we'll get to see one another. Can't wait!

I have posted (it it works) a few pictures from my recent trip to California to visit my brother and sister-in-law. We had so much fun! My favorite part was the drive to San Jacinto (a mountain). Dad snoring in the back, mom crying becasue she was so happy, and Drew, Nick, Julie and I singing Johnny Cash at the top of our lungs!! good times.
